Hi!  I'm Amelia, or at least that's what I've been named by the good folks who rescued me and are providing me with a foster home, until I find the folks that will take me in to be permanently part of their family. Could that be you?

I was just rescued a few days ago by some nice guys who saw that I was abandoned and were gracious enough to take me in, but sadly they cannot keep me. They love me, but there is hardly any room where I am staying, and they don't have a yard for me to frolic in. I was very hungry and not so clean, but I was fed and bathed, and I felt so much better. I am very comfortable with people, and don't growl or bite. Not to sound immodest, but I have an excellent disposition. I must be a good girl, because they keep telling me I am! I am house trained, and I'll be quite comfortable with other dogs.

The day after I was rescued, I was taken to the vet and I was given all my shots and was handed a clean bill of health. I was groomed and tested for heartworm and I came out of there smelling like roses. I'd say I'm a medium sized dog, and I'm as big as I'm going to get. I don't know for sure what kind of breed I am or even how old I am, but the vet said I was likely a Rottweiler mix and probably around 2 to 3 years old. I'm not at all high-strung or neurotic, but when I am outdoors, I do have a good bit of energy. I like to run, and I'll run right alongside you if you like to run too. I take the lead when I'm walked, and in all fairness, I could probably use a little training in that department and with some basic commands, but I think I'm still young enough to learn some new things. I was never played with, so I don't really know yet how to play, but I can't wait to learn.

If you are looking for a lifetime-loving companion, look no further, I know I'll make you happy. If you are not looking for a dog, please feel free to tell any of your friends or co-workers who might be looking for one about me.

If you wish to adopt me, please send an e-mail to: Janet@astrudgilberto.com

I am currently in Philadelphia, PA., but one of my rescuers, Paul, said that he would be willing to drive for a few hours in order to bring me to you, in case you cannot pick me up!

PS - I'm not married to the name Amelia, so if you want to rename me, you can, I won't take offense!
